Dubes baru

As of November 2006, Mr. Wardana is the newly appointed Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore. Before stepping into his new role as ambassador, Mr. Wardana was the Indonesian Consul General in Sydney, Australia, from 2004-2006.

In more than 24 years of service for the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Wardana has been posted in various continents, namely in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

His earliest post as Vice Consul was at the Indonesian Consulate General in San Francisco, USA, from 1985-1988. He later on headed off to the Indonesian Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1991-1995, as First Secretary for Economic Affairs. He was appointed as Counsellor, before becoming Minister Counsellor, heading the Economic Division at the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo, Japan, from 1998-2002. His latest posting, as mentioned above, was in Sydney, Australia.

Serving his domestic duties at the Foreign Ministry's headquarters in Jakarta, Indonesia, Mr. Wardana started out his responsibilities as Head of Sub-Division, at the General Affairs Bureau, from 1983-1984. Then, he took on the position of Head of Section for the Directorate of International Trade Relations, from 1988-1991. In 1995-1998, he was appointed Deputy Director at the Directorate of Multilateral Economic Cooperation, and the most recent was as Director for South American and Caribbean Affairs, from 2002-2004.

Mr Wardana has a vast experience in numerous bilateral engagements in addition to regional and international conferences. Among others are his involvements at the UNGA, ECOSOC, UNCTAD, G-77, and G-15 conferences, as well as bilateral Joint Commissions between Indonesia and Tunisia, Venezuela, Cuba, Suriname, Chile and Argentina.

In 1980, Mr. Wardana obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in the Field of Social and Political Sciences at Diponegoro University, a prestigious Indonesian state-owned university, in Semarang, Central Java.

Mr. Wardana was born in Klaten, Central Java, in 1954. He is married to Mrs. Masrifah and blessed with two children.
